The Panasonic CX-493 Photoelectric Sensor (Part Number: UCX493) is a top-notch photoelectric sensor designed for long-range retroreflective sensing—it easily detects opaque or translucent objects up to 5 meters away when paired with the RF-230 reflector. This sensor is no ordinary device—it’s as sharp as a tack, offering repeatability of 0.5 mm, ensuring pinpoint accuracy every single time.

Operating smoothly on 12 to 24 V DC, it sips power with just 10 mA of current consumption. The NPN open-collector transistor output supports up to 100 mA, with Light-ON/Dark-ON switching that’s as easy as flipping a switch. On top of that, it comes fully loaded with short-circuit protection, making it built like a tank for industrial reliability.
