    Panasonic PM-L65-P Photoelectric Sensor

    The Panasonic PM-L65-P Photoelectric Sensor is a compact, high-precision photoelectric sensor designed for reliable detection of small objects. It features a fixed sensing range of 6 mm (0.236 in) and can detect opaque objects as small as 0.8 × 1.2 mm (0.031 × 0.047 in). With hysteresis of 0.05 mm or less and repeatability of 0.01 mm or less, it ensures accurate performance in tight-tolerance applications.

    Operating on a 5 to 24 V DC supply, the sensor has low current consumption (15 mA or less). It includes a PNP open-collector output with Light-ON/Dark-ON selectable modes and short-circuit protection. The fast response time of 20 µs (light received) and 80 µs (light interrupted) enables high-speed detection, with a maximum response frequency of 3 kHz.

    An orange LED indicates light reception. Built for industrial settings, it offers IP40 protection, endures vibration up to 2,000 Hz, and resists shock up to 15,000 m/s².


    The sensor houses a non-modulated infrared LED (855 nm) in a durable PBT enclosure, ensuring long-term stability and resistance to wear. Users can extend the cable up to 100 m, as long as they maintain a voltage of 4.5 V or higher beyond 20 m to ensure proper sensor operation.
