Panasonic PM-L45-P Photoelectric Sensor

 

The Panasonic PM-L45-P Photoelectric Sensor is a high-precision compact sensor designed for microscopic object detection in automation environments. It offers a fixed sensing range of 6 mm and detects objects as small as 0.8 × 1.2 mm, making it ideal for tight tolerance applications. With a repeatability of 0.01 mm and hysteresis of 0.05 mm or less, it ensures consistently accurate performance.

Operating on a 5 to 24 V DC supply, it consumes 15 mA or less, while its PNP open-collector output supports up to 50 mA and includes Light-ON and Dark-ON outputs, protected by short-circuit protection. The response time is extremely fast, with 20 µs (light received) and 80 µs (light interrupted), delivering up to 3 kHz frequency.

Built with PBT housing and polycarbonate display, it withstands harsh conditions, supporting temperatures from -25°C to +55°C, and has an IP64 rating. It resists shock up to 15,000 m/s² and vibration from 10 to 2,000 Hz, ensuring durability. The sensor emits an infrared beam at 855 nm, optimal for opaque object detection.

Certified under CE (EMC and RoHS), the sensor includes a 1 m PVC cable and allows wiring extensions up to 100 m, making it flexible for diverse installations. The orange LED indicator confirms operation under light-received conditions.
