The Panasonic FD-61 Optic Fibre Head, part number UFD61, is a compact, reflective-type fibre optic sensor head designed for reliable object detection in general-purpose industrial applications. The FD61 features a threaded M6 fibre head with a compact length of 17 mm. This design allows for easy integration into tight or fixed-mount installations.

It uses a top-view beam direction for straightforward alignment. The sensor ensures high accuracy with a beam axis position tolerance of 150 µm. It also maintains a beam axis inclination within ±3°, supporting precise and consistent detection. When paired with FX-500 series amplifiers, the FD61 achieves a sensing range of up to 450 mm. This makes it well-suited for medium-distance reflective sensing applications.

The fibre cable is 2 meters long and can be freely cut to fit your setup. It supports a minimum bending radius of 4 mm, allowing flexible cable routing in confined areas. Although the FD61 does not support mounting lenses, it is compatible with protective tubes such as the FDP-500, FDP-1000, and FDP-1500. These options enhance durability in demanding environments.

With an IP67 protection rating, the sensor resists dust and brief water immersion. It operates reliably in extreme temperatures, from –55°C to +80°C. This makes it suitable for both standard use and harsh industrial conditions.
