Panasonic CX-482 Photoelectric Sensor

The Panasonic CX-482 Photoelectric Sensor (CX482, UCX482), part number UCX482, is a high-performance retroreflective photoelectric sensor, engineered for reliable detection over a 0.1 to 2 m range using the RF-230 reflector. It accurately detects transparent, translucent, or opaque objects with a minimum diameter of 50 mm, ensuring consistent operation with ±0.5 mm repeatability.

Equipped with an NPN open-collector output, it handles up to 100 mA at 30 V DC or less and offers selectable Light-ON/Dark-ON modes for application flexibility. The sensor integrates short-circuit protection, and its fast 1 ms response time makes it ideal for dynamic industrial settings.

Its sensitivity adjuster allows precise tuning, while the automatic interference prevention enables close-proximity installation of multiple units without mutual interference. The device is built for durability, conforming to IP67 standards, and operates reliably in temperatures from -25°C to +55°C.

Housed in a robust PBT body with a polycarbonate lens, it resists shock, vibration, and environmental stress. The infrared LED emitter peaks at 870 nm, and the unit supports cable extension up to 100 m, making it suitable for extended-range applications.
