Panasonic CX-481 Photoelectric Sensor

The Panasonic CX-481 Photoelectric Sensor (CX481,UCX481) is a retroreflective sensor with a sensing range of 50 to 500 mm (1.969 to 19.685 in), optimized for detection using the RF-230 reflector. It is capable of detecting transparent, translucent, or opaque objects with a minimum size of Ø50 mm (Ø1.969 in). The sensor offers repeatability of 0.5 mm (0.020 in) or less, ensuring reliable performance.

It operates on a 12 to 24 V DC supply, consuming 10 mA or less. The output is an NPN open-collector transistor, supporting a maximum sink current of 100 mA. The output is switchable between Light-ON and Dark-ON, with a response time of 1 ms or less. Orange and green LEDs indicate operation and stability.

Designed for industrial environments, it is IP67 rated for protection against dust and water, and it can function in ambient temperatures ranging from -25°C to +55°C. It offers automatic interference prevention, vibration, and shock resistance. The infrared LED emits at a peak wavelength of 870 nm (0.034 mil), providing effective sensing capabilities.
