Panasonic CX-442-P Photoelectric Sensor

The Panasonic CX-442-P Photoelectric Sensor (CX442P, UCX442P) is a versatile photoelectric sensor designed for precision and stability in industrial environments. It offers an adjustable sensing range from 40 to 300 mm, with a minimum detectable object at 20 mm distance, making it ideal for detecting small or irregular objects.

It supports Background Suppression (BGS) and Foreground Suppression (FGS), selectable via wiring, enhancing performance in complex sensing environments. The repeatability is excellent—1 mm along the sensing axis and 0.2 mm perpendicular, ensuring reliable detection with minimal hysteresis (≤5%).

The sensor uses a modulated red LED (650 nm), producing a Ø15 mm spot at 300 mm, suitable for accurate alignment. It features PNP open-collector output with short-circuit protection, and a fast 1 ms response time for real-time detection. Indicators include an orange LED for output and green LED for stability, aiding quick diagnostics.

Built to last, the CX-442-P has IP67 protection, operates in -25 to +55°C, and resists vibration (3 mm, 10–500 Hz) and shock (50 G). A 5-turn mechanical distance adjuster and automatic interference prevention provide ease of setup and dependable operation.
