The Omron E2E-X7D1-N 2M Proximity Sensor is a cylindrical, shielded proximity sensor with an M18 threaded head, designed for ferrous metal detection. It operates as a DC 2-wire model with a sensing distance of 7 mm (±10%) and a setting range of 0 to 5.6 mm. With a response frequency of 0.5 kHz, it enables efficient, real-time object detection.

The sensor functions within a 12 to 24 VDC supply range and tolerates operating voltages from 10 to 30 VDC. It maintains low power draw with a leakage current of just 0.8 mA and supports load currents from 3 to 100 mA, delivering a maximum residual voltage of 3 V at 100 mA.

To simplify monitoring, it features a red operation indicator and a green setting indicator. Built-in protections—such as short-circuit protection and a surge suppressor—significantly enhance operational safety. Furthermore, the sensor maintains consistent performance across diverse environments, operating reliably in temperatures from –25°C to 70°C and relative humidity levels between 35% and 95%.

In addition, its IP67 and oil-proof ratings enable it to resist dust, water, and oil ingress, making it well-suited for harsh industrial conditions. The use of a brass nickel-plated case, PBT sensing face, and zinc-plated iron washers further contributes to its mechanical robustness. Moreover, excellent vibration and shock resistance ensure dependable operation even under mechanical stress. Finally, a 2-meter pre-wired cable facilitates straightforward and flexible installation.
