The Leuze IPRK18/A L.46 Photoelectric Sensor, part of the Series 18 range, leverages the reflection principle to deliver reliable detection of highly transparent objects, including films, bottles, and glass panes. It maintains a guaranteed operating range of 0 to 2.4 meters, with a typical range extending up to 3 meters, ensuring accurate performance in challenging transparency conditions.

Powered by a red LED light source with a wavelength of 660 nm, the sensor emits a round light spot that ensures consistent target detection. Its high switching frequency of 1,000 Hz and response time of 0.5 ms make it ideal for fast-paced automation environments.

The device integrates AS-Interface (AS-i) functionality for both data communication and power supply, streamlining installation and control. It operates on a supply voltage of 26.5 to 31.6 V, with minimal current draw (0–35 mA). A step switch provides user-friendly operational control.

Housed in a robust zinc metal enclosure with a glass lens cover, it withstands harsh conditions and offers IP67 and IP69K protection, making it suitable for washdown and industrial environments. Its compact dimensions (15 × 50 × 33 mm), M12 5-pin male connector, and A-coding ensure easy integration into tight spaces.
