Operating in STN (Super Twisted Nematic) mode, this display is normally black and transmissive, meaning it offers good visibility when there is external light. This mode is commonly used in low-power, monochrome applications but this model supports color display, expanding its versatility for various visual applications.

It uses a parallel data interface (1ch, 8-bit), which is compatible with many controllers and microcontrollers. A CCFL backlight ensures decent brightness, but it requires an external driver, which is something to keep in mind during integration.
