    Panasonic EX-L221 Laser Sensor

    The Panasonic EX-L221 Laser Sensor (Part Number: UEXL221) is a compact, high-precision laser sensor designed for accurate object detection in demanding industrial environments. It features a sensing range of 45 to 300 mm (1.772 to 11.811 in), optimized for white non-glossy paper (100 × 100 mm) as a reference target. With a typical emission spot size of ø1 mm (0.039 in) and a minimum sensing object as small as a gold wire of ø0.01 mm (0.0004 in), the sensor offers exceptional precision, especially with optimal sensitivity adjustment.

    The sensor provides repeatability of 0.02 mm (0.0008 in), and includes a continuously variable sensitivity adjuster. It supports NPN open-collector transistor output, handling up to 50 mA and offering Light-ON/Dark-ON switching. Its response time is a fast 0.5 ms or less, and it includes short-circuit and inverse polarity protection.

    With an IP67 rating, the EX-L221 withstands harsh environments, operating from -10 to +55°C. It includes a Class 1 red semiconductor laser with a peak wavelength of 655 nm, and is housed in durable PBT with acrylic and glass components.
