The Datalogic S5N-PA-5-C21-NN Photoelectric Sensor (S5NPA5C21NN, 952002191, part of the S5N series) is a high-performance diffuse photoelectric sensor designed for precise object detection up to a nominal sensing distance of 400 mm.

It features a tubular M18 design with an axial optic and a 90° radial optic position. This ensures flexible and space-saving installation. A sensitivity adjustment trimmer allows users to fine-tune detection for optimal performance. It performs reliably even on variable surfaces like white Kodak 90% targets.

The sensor operates on a 10–30 VDC power supply. It supports a high switching frequency of 1 kHz and delivers a fast response time of 500 µs. These features make it ideal for dynamic automation systems. It provides NPN NO+NC dual output functionality, enabling versatile switching logic. Built-in short-circuit protection and reverse polarity protection enhance operational safety and reliability.

The LED infrared emission minimizes false triggers from ambient light, supported by compliance with EN 60947-5-2:2020 EMC standards. Equipped with yellow output and green stability LED indicators, it provides clear, real-time feedback. The device handles ≤ 100 mA load current with a low voltage drop (≤2V) and minimal leakage current (≤10 µA). Constructed with a durable plastic PBT/PMMA housing and IP67-rated mechanical protection, the sensor withstands harsh environments and temperatures from -25°C to +55°C. The integrated M12 connector allows fast, reliable connection for industrial use.
