Panasonic CY-122A-P Photoelectric Sensor

The Panasonic CY-122A-P Photoelectric Sensor (CY122AP, UCY122AP), part number YCY122AP, is a diffuse reflective photoelectric sensor from the CY100 series, designed for general-purpose object detection applications. Though now obsolete, it was widely used for its reliable performance and compact design.

This model offers a sensing distance of up to 60 cm (23.6"), using an infrared light source for stable detection across various surfaces. It features a PNP open-collector output and delivers a fast 1 ms response time, making it suitable for moderately fast automation tasks.

The sensor operates on a 12–24 V DC supply, and connection is achieved via a 2-meter pre-wired cable, ensuring quick and simple installation. Its adjustable detection range allows fine-tuning based on the application environment.

With a robust IP67-rated enclosure, it provides excellent resistance to dust and water, and supports reliable operation in -25°C to +55°C temperatures. Despite its discontinued status, the CY-122A-P was valued for its durability, ease of setup, and flexible reflective sensing capabilities.
