The Panasonic GX-F8A-P-C5 Proximity Sensor (Part Number UGXF8APC5) is a compact and highly durable inductive proximity sensor designed for reliable performance in harsh industrial environments. It complies with the EMC and RoHS Directives, ensuring safety and environmental compatibility.
This sensor offers a maximum operation distance of 2.5 mm ±8%, with a stable sensing range up to 2.1 mm, even under ambient temperature drift and voltage fluctuations. It accurately detects iron objects sized 15 × 15 × 1 mm and limits hysteresis to 20% or less to ensure precise switching. Its repeatability is exceptional, at 0.04 mm or less.
Operating on 12 to 24 V DC with a low current consumption of 15 mA, the sensor features a PNP open-collector output with a maximum source current of 100 mA. The residual voltage is kept under 2 V at full load, and the output operates in normally open (NO) configuration. It meets DC-12 or DC-13 utilization categories and delivers a maximum response frequency of 500 Hz, making it suitable for moderate-speed applications.
An orange LED indicator lights up when the output is active. The sensor achieves an IP68/IP68g protection rating and endures thermal shock cycles, extended water immersion, and cutting oil exposure. It functions in ambient temperatures from -25 to +70°C and endures vibration (up to 20 G) and shock (up to 10,000 m/s²). Its voltage with standability is 1,000 V AC, with an insulation resistance exceeding 50 MΩ.

1. Immerse at 0 m below 0 ℃ +32 ℉ water surface and leave for 30 min. Then, immerse at 0 m below +70 ℃ +158 ℉ water surface and leave for 30 min.
2. Regard the heat shock test in 1 as one cycle and perform 20 cycles.
3. Leave in water at a depth of 1 m 3.281 ft in water for 500 hours.
4. After tests 1 to 3, insulation resistance, voltage withstandability, current consumption, and sensing ranges must meet the standard values.
