The Sharp LJ640U34 LCD Module 8.9″ EL display combines durability and clarity for specialized monochrome applications. With a resolution of 640×400 and 84 PPI, it provides crisp, legible visuals ideal for industrial, medical, or legacy systems. Its active area of 191.9×119.9 mm fits into a compact yet sturdy 246×158×26.5 mm chassis, ensuring easy integration into embedded environments.

Leveraging Electroluminescent (EL) technology, the display features a self-emissive backlight, delivering uniform brightness without external lighting components. Although its luminance is 115 cd/m², it remains suitable for controlled lighting environments where glare and contrast are not primary concerns. Moreover, the self-emissive nature of its EL technology helps maintain uniform brightness across the panel. As a result, the display performs reliably in low to moderate ambient light. In addition, its design emphasizes clarity and consistency over high-brightness output, making it well-suited for applications where readability and stability are more important than vivid contrast.

The display operates on a 5/12V power supply (VL/VH) and communicates through a 16-pin parallel data interface, making it compatible with a range of standard control systems. Its 60Hz frame rate supports smooth, flicker-free operation.

Engineered for resilience, it withstands operating temperatures from -5°C to 55°C and storage temperatures down to -40°C, ensuring reliability in fluctuating or demanding environments. This makes it a dependable solution for legacy equipment, control panels, and specialized industrial use.
