The Panasonic GX-H8A Proximity Sensor (Part No. UGXH8A) is a compact, high-precision inductive proximity sensor engineered for metal detection, particularly iron. The Panasonic GX-H8A offers a maximum operation distance of 2.5 mm ±8%. It ensures stable detection up to 2.1 mm, even under temperature drift or voltage fluctuation. It delivers exceptional repeatability (≤0.04 mm) and low hysteresis (≤20%). This makes it ideal for precise positioning tasks in demanding applications.
The sensor has a normally open NPN open-collector output. It supports up to 100 mA sink current and offers a high-speed response of 500 Hz for fast automation tasks. Built with a durable PBT enclosure, the GX-H8A is rated IP68/IP68g. It can withstand water immersion, thermal shock, and cutting oil exposure.
It is highly robust against mechanical stress. The sensor endures vibration up to 20 G and shock up to 1,000 G in all directions. The GX-H8A operates in temperatures from -25 to +70 °C. It comes with a 1 m oil/heat/cold-resistant cable, extendable up to 100 meters. This makes it a rugged, reliable sensor for use in harsh industrial environments.
